The state of the Project (May 2012)

Read what has been done in the past months for the project and what our plans are for the near future. This edition: back on track & developing a contingency plan…

It’s been awhile since we last updated you all about the progress we make with the project. That’s because, well, there was not much noticeable progress to tell you about. All members of the project had to focus on other things for awhile such as their personal financial situation. That meant that we got jobs or started new freelance activities and therefore could barely spend any time on the project.

Contingency plan

After a time-out and careful consideration we decided to get back in contact with each other to pick up where we left off. What do we want with The Unity Express? It turned out that we all still want to make it happen, but we realized we can’t do it alone. We need a rock solid, experienced partner that understands our team, the project and our goals. Generation Europe was that partner for a while, but we went separate ways in the end.

After that realization we started thinking about, and looking for, suitable other partners that we can contact. After all we did talk to an enormous amount of people over the last 2 years and got to know quite a few people in the same industry as we are. We are in the process of contacting them now and arranging meetings to see if things ‘click’. As soon as there is more known about these collaborations, we’ll let you know. These things can take a while though, as we all have busy schedules and headquarters of these organizations are not around the corner.

In the meantime, please share all suitable partners for The Unity Express that you might know of in the comments below or E-mail us! We’d be happy to know who you see us partnering with!

  1. How about Eurail.com or Couchsurfing.org as a sponsor?

    • Coen says:

Hi Roy! As you can see in our sponsor wagon at the bottom of the website, EURail is already a sponsor of the project. We have tried CouchSurfing on a number of occasions but they didn’t respond positively to our requests.
